If you need an interpreter during your appointment, we can help. Our Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center provides interpreter services for our members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at no extra cost.
You can request an interpreter in one of five ways:
1. Request an interpreter when you schedule your next appointment
2. At least one week before your appointment, call and request an interpreter from the department where your appointment is sceduled
3. If you are at the facility one week before your appointment, ask a clinic receptionist to schedule an interpreter for you.
4. If you are hospitalized, contact the nursing supervisor who can make arrangements for an interpreter.
5. If you are speech/hearing impaired, call (510) 652-4673 (TTY)
Language interpretation is available by telephone.
Telephone interpretation is always available - even on short notice.
We can also set up a telephone call with you, your practitioner, and an interpreter.
